INFORMATION

AIS Technologies Group takes pride in developing ground breaking technology and is thankful to be able to show some of those cases studies we have performed over the years. From patented thermal inspections, through to verifying donuts are fully risen, these inspections and innovative process methods have helped AISTG raise the bar within the industry.

Chainsaw Chain Defect Detection

Inspect complex features for assembly verification and quality assurance

The chain on a chainsaw must undergo intense force during operation, so it essential that each chain meets the highest quality standards. Through the use of AIS Technologies Group vision system integration, a vision inspection system consisting of 2D cameras and 3D scanners was designed to perform a total of 26 inspections on 4 main features on each link of a chain – including the tie strap, cutter, BDL, and rivet features. Inspections are completed 5 links at a time, and inspection data is reported back on what was found for each chain link into an array of results which is then inspected for the correct sequence of features as well as the presence of any production errors. Only those chains that meet preexisting quality tolerances are accepted through the AIS Technologies Group vision inspection system, allowing for a reduction in costly production errors.

Vegetable Identification and Counting

Identify and count various types of vegetables within seconds.

Vegetable manufacturers and processors often maintain a wide range of products including fresh, frozen, prepared, or canned vegetables that must be strictly inspected, identified, and counted. Through the use of AIS Technologies Group vision system integration, a vision inspection system consisting of a camera and ViDi Deep Learning software was designed to perform a vegetable identification and count for a random set of mixed vegetables, providing the name of each vegetable and the associated count within the set. Additionally, the system was designed for quality inspection to sort only properly processed vegetables from any undesirable items. In a matter of seconds, various vegetables are identified, counted, and only those that meet preexisting quality tolerances are accepted through the vision inspection system, allowing for an increase in production quality.

Cucumber Consistency Inspection

Ensure that each cucumber has consistent size, shape, color, and texture.

Cucumbers come in many shapes and sizes, but it is increasingly important in the food industry to produce products that are indistinguishable from one another to promote a sense of perfection. Any products that are damaged, misshapen, or over/underripe present issues that result in consumer dissatisfaction if not immediately recognized. AIS Technologies Group developed a vision inspection system consisting of a camera, laser, and deep learning software to inspect for the correct size, shape, color, and texture of cucumbers on a manufacturing line. Only those products that meet the predetermined characteristics are accepted through the AIS Technologies Group vision inspection system, allowing for an increase in consumer satisfaction and quality through decreased production issues.

Chip Detection in Machined Parts

Detect any size chips or fragments on various machined parts.

During a machining process, chips or fragments are generated that can often get wedged inside channels and cavities, or even remain after a washing cycle, making them hard to detect due to the potentially small size and how deep they are in the cavities. Chips can be a root cause for premature product failure and are a major concern for product recalls. AIS Technologies Group developed a patented technology using a vision inspection system consisting of a heat gun and a thermal imaging camera to perform a chip detection for various machined parts. Using thermal radiation, even the smallest and deepest chips can be detected through the system, allowing for an increase in production quality and a decrease in product failure and recalls.

Donut Consistency Inspection

Ensure that each donut has consistent size, shape, color, and texture.

Donuts come in many shapes and sizes, but it is increasingly important in the food industry to produce products that are indistinguishable from one another to promote a sense of perfection. Any products that are damaged, misshapen, or over/undercooked present issues that result in consumer dissatisfaction if not immediately recognized. AIS Technologies Group developed a vision inspection system consisting of a camera, laser, and deep learning software to inspect for the correct size, shape, color, and texture of donuts on a manufacturing line. Only those products that meet the predetermined characteristics are accepted through the inspection system, allowing for an increase in consumer satisfaction and quality through decreased production issues.
